Cultural Boycott Israël

Plaatsmaken supports the cultural boycott of Israel.
Dutch and Belgian artists and institutions have united in a collective boycott of Israel, as they no longer wish to stand by in the face of these atrocities.

They speak out for the freedom of Palestine and against the genocide that is being ignored by so many governments. The signatories will no longer participate in art projects funded by the Israeli government (or complicit institutions), nor will they enter into new collaborations with such parties.
They also refuse to take part in initiatives that treat Israeli and Palestinian perspectives as "equal" without addressing the history of oppression and injustice. Exempt from the boycott are organizations that are not complicit in violations of international law and that have unequivocally spoken out against the genocide, the occupation (legally declared illegal), and apartheid.

The boycott is explicitly not directed at individuals or their backgrounds—this includes Jewish people or Israelis as such—but at the complicity of Israeli institutions and companies in human rights violations against Palestinians.
